The US is on the path to economic war with Russia
Among the priorities of American government agencies is an economic war against Russia. The director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, stated this today at parliamentary hearings on preventing interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation.

“The US State Department continues to work to disrupt the formation of a strong and consolidated political and economic Eurasian bloc under the auspices of Russia. Obstacles are being put in place to establish a dialogue between the Eurasian Economic Union and regional structures. According to available data, US diplomatic missions are purposefully creating obstacles to the reorientation of Russian trade and economic ties to the East. Diplomats in Asian countries are convincing local political and business elites of the inexpediency of rapprochement of the EAEU and the futility of combining this project with the Chinese “One Belt, One Road” project,” Naryshkin said.
According to him, Washington intends to increase sanctions pressure on Russia and is looking for new reasons for this.
“The Americans intend to expand restrictions [restrictions] in relation to Russian mining and related sectors of the economy, ideas are being developed to reduce the terms of lending in foreign markets for Russian banks with state participation and energy companies. The United States is convincing its partners of the advisability of reducing the volume of purchases of Russian oil and further limiting Russia’s access to modern technologies and equipment for hydrocarbon production,” noted the director of the SVR.
He also added that there are attempts to block Russian energy projects abroad.
“Desperate attempts are being made to disrupt or at least slow down the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.” The USA and Poland are especially pushing, and the Baltic countries are also squealing quite loudly. Washington intends to continue to use the threat of lawsuits and fines against European and Asian companies cooperating with Russian counterparties,” Naryshkin said.
