The press service of the embassy reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The bill provides for the creation of a “Fund for Countering Russian Influence” and allocates $250 million for its budget for fiscal years 2018-2019. To implement initiatives to support energy security in Ukraine, it is expected that $30 million will be allocated,” the embassy reports.

It is the policy of the United States, according to the law, to “support the government of Ukraine in restoring sovereignty and territorial integrity, condemn and oppose all destabilizing efforts of the government of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, and not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea by the government of the Russian Federation or the seizure of any part of the territory of Ukraine using military force.”

US assistance is also provided for reforming Ukraine’s energy sector and reducing dependence on Russian energy resources, and continuing to counter the implementation of the Russian Nord Stream 2 project.
