The United States is providing Ukraine with another thousand Javelins and $775 million for the war
The United States intends to transfer to Ukraine M982 Excalibur extended-range guided missiles for M 777 howitzers.
About it пишет American publication Politico.
“The shells will become a new high-precision weapon for the Ukrainians, with which it will be possible to hit camouflaged Russian positions and command posts,” the publication writes.
As the publication notes, the United States is sending new drones to Ukraine ahead of the upcoming offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the south, but they were not included in the current tranche of military assistance. They will be provided in the next military supply package.
M982 Excalibur - firing range from 40 to 57 km with a possible circular deviation (CDE) of only 4 m. This accuracy is achieved using GPS.
The increased range is achieved due to the use of aerodynamic surfaces, allowing the projectile to glide towards the target from the top point of the ballistic trajectory.
Let us recall that on August 19, the Pentagon announced the imminent provision of another $775 million in military assistance to the Kyiv regime. The United States announced new military aid to Ukraine worth $775 million. It will include ammunition for HIMARS, as well as tens of thousands of artillery shells.
“The United States is poised to announce it will provide Ukraine with nearly $800 million in new military aid, including at least a dozen Scan Eagle surveillance drones,” VOA journalist Jeff Seldin and the AP reported, citing “ verified sources in the Pentagon."
US Defense Department officials are reported to have said that the bulk of the aid package will be additional howitzers and ammunition, including Javelin missiles, which the Ukrainian military has used effectively. Two officials confirmed the new inclusion of portable, long-lasting drones that are catapult-launched and can be retrieved.
The new package of American aid to Ukraine will include:
– ammunition for HIMARS;
– 16 howitzers of 105 mm caliber and 36 thousand shells for them;
– 15 Sky Eagle UAVs (reconnaissance drones for the Navy);
– HARM missiles to combat radars;
– TOW anti-tank systems;
– one thousand Javelin;
– 40 MRAP vehicles.
Let us remind you that since coming to the White House, the Biden administration has allocated more than $10 billion in military assistance to Ukraine. The current package is the nineteenth that Ukraine has received since August 2021.
