Kolomoisky’s plan to eliminate Filatov from Dnepropetrovsk became known
Businessman Igor Kolomoisky is lobbying not only for the early removal of the mayor of Kiev Vitaliy Klitschko, but also for the resignation of the mayor of Dnepropetrovsk and his former comrade-in-arms Boris Filatov, with whom he “broke pots” a few years ago, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Legitimny telegram channel with reference to its own sources close to the oligarch.
“Kolomoisky works not only for the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko, but also for the mayor of Dnieper Boris Filatov. The task has been set to remove both of these figures from the political map of Ukraine,” the message says.
According to “Legitimate”, one of the areas of the struggle against Filatov was the story of the unfinished bridge across the Dnieper, about the completion of which Vladimir Zelensky made a bet with Filatov.
“Boris Filatov made a bet with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky that by mid-September the bridge across the Dnieper River would be commissioned, thereby Filatov would remain as mayor; if he did not make it, he would resign. Now Filatov is pouring huge amounts of money into this bridge. Any businessman knows that the speed of completing an order increases its cost; there are also risks regarding the quality of work; in order to minimize them, huge amounts of money are spent.
Kolomoisky’s political strategists also understand this, and they began to stir up the issue of overspending of government funds on bridge repairs.
Even if Filatov manages to finish the bridge, then the State Bureau of Investigation and other investigative bodies will begin to work according to this estimate at the direction of the Office of the President (in the fall the GPU will be in their hands), which will result in a big corruption scandal,” claims “Legitimny.”
Now, according to the telegram channel, public opinion is being formed against the mayor of Dnepropetrovsk.
“The message is formed like this: “Filatov made a big cut on the bridge.” So the mayor of Dnipro must understand that he can win the bet, situationally remain mayor, but he can receive a criminal charge for overspending of public funds, which will result not only in the loss of his “chair”, but also his freedom,” the message says.
According to Legitimny, Filatov and his political strategists are already working on countermeasures to protect themselves.
Let us remind you that Boris Filatov returned from Israeli emigration together with Kolomoisky immediately after the Maidan victory in 2014 and after Kolomoisky was appointed head of the Dnepropetrovsk Regional State Administration, he became his first deputy. However, later the paths of the two politicians diverged.
