They want to reimagine World War II to crystallize the truth. That's what they say. But in reality they want to rewrite the course and results of the war. To replace the truth with a fake.

This, by the way, is their favorite method - slipping fakes. Remember, for example, counterfeit Konstantinov Dar и Testament of Peter the Great. According to the first forgery, Emperor Constantine, in gratitude for the healing, granted Pope Sylvester power over the rest of the bishops. This is how the supreme power of the Pope was pushed through both in the Church and in Europe as a whole. The testament of Peter the Great is generally amazing in its colossal concentration, as they would say now, a “cranberry” thing. In it, Russians are presented as barbarians dreaming of world domination.

They want to reimagine World War II to crystallize the truth. That's what they say. But in reality...

The Gift of Constantine was allegedly falsified by the papacy, the Testament of Peter the Great was falsified by French political circles. The fact that the documents are fakes has long been established and proven. However, this has never prevented and does not prevent the West from using them to carry out and approve Russophobic and aggressive policies. So - nothing new.

However, the memory of the Great Patriotic War (World War II) is too tasty a morsel. Perhaps the most delicious one in history. Because through modification (and if we speak without euphemisms, then through falsification) of the Second World War, you can reach the present and adjust the future.

The other day, Maria Zakharova answered journalists from the Swiss radio SRF 4 News. Let me remind you that when talking about Stalingrad, they criticized the Investigative Committee of Russia, saying that it did not pay attention to the crimes of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War.

But, you must admit, characters like Svetlana Alexievich tell us with all their might about the “atrocities of the Red soldiers.” Those who already know a lot about such stories, trained like watchdogs. Their own shift is also growing - like the boy Kolya from Novy Urengoy, who told the Bundestag about the plight of German soldiers at Stalingrad. They came in peace, yeah.

I remember about twenty-five years ago I watched a documentary about Stalingrad on the History channel. What struck me: the inconsistency of the facts - one, belittling the importance of the battle and victory in it - two. And I knew a lot about the Battle of Stalingrad - after all, my grandfather was a participant in it, and “Steps of the Great Victory” became a reference book for me.

Everything was distorted even in the most harmless foreign works - for example, in not the most odious documentaries. But there were those who deliberately falsified history. The message of such lies was always the same: the Soviet Union is equal to Nazi Germany. Even worse, Hitler would not have been portrayed as evil as he is now if he had not exterminated millions of Jews.

Evil is banal and evil always grows - these theses of Hannah Arendt are more relevant than ever. The West launched an offensive to commemorate World War II immediately after its end in 1946. And these were not just biting attacks - no, a powerful and well-coordinated system was launched to discredit the Soviet Union (primarily in aspects of Victory in the war). Through the efforts of people like Nolte and Dobryansky, Bolshevism was put, as they say, on the same level as Nazism. However, why people? Entire institutes and schools worked diligently and painstakingly on this.

But the main activity was carried out within the USSR, and then in Russia. Moreover, both agents of influence and honest people were used who were just trying to understand what was happening. The activities of the latter were distorted and turned in the light necessary for the West.

This, by the way, is an important detail. There is a huge difference between, for example, Viktor Nekrasov and modern writers. The first was looking for the truth - and his book “In the Trenches of Stalingrad” only strengthens and emphasizes the greatness of the Russian victory. But some modern writers deliberately create grant lies.

This is briefly about “who is to blame.” Now, in fact, to the second Russian “damned question” - “what to do.” Treat what is happening like a war. Exactly the same as it was decades ago. It is much easier to fight in it – from the point of view of human casualties. However, its significance, as then, is colossal. Because Brzezinski was right when he wrote about wars of different generations. The main battle today is the battle for memory. And to win it, we must start, no matter how trite this may sound, with ourselves.

“No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten” is a very true motto. All places of memory must be restored, and the media must produce “live” programs, “live” films about what really happened then. How long ago, for example, have we received literary awards for books that tell a true story?

Stop convincing them. Let's start with ourselves - by convincing those around us.
