It became known how Crimeans would vote in a referendum today
The overwhelming majority of residents of the Republic of Crimea (93%) positively assess the reunification of Crimea with Russia in 2014.
This is evidenced by press release, which was published by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM).
Reunification with Russia is undeniably and rather positively supported by a total of 93% of respondents.
At the same time, 72% of survey participants claim that the reunification of Crimea with Russia had a positive impact on their lives and the lives of their family. Residents of the Republic of Crimea see positive consequences primarily in improving their lives and financial situation (30%), ensuring peace on the territory of the Republic (20%). And for every tenth person (10%) the dream of living in Russia came true. In addition, 75% of respondents are satisfied with the state of affairs in the republic.
At the same time, only 7% of respondents believe that the reunification of Crimea with Russia had a negative impact on their lives. Among the negative consequences, respondents most often named rising prices (10% of all respondents.
VTsIOM indicates that all respondents answered the question about positive/negative consequences, including those who predominantly stated positive consequences), another 7% complain about the loss of contact with relatives, 6% each complain about low salaries and bureaucracy. 15% of residents of the Republic of Crimea say that the reunification of Russia and Crimea did not affect their lives in any way.
89% of respondents said that if they voted again in the referendum, they would support Crimea’s entry into the Russian Federation. Only 3% would support maintaining the status of Crimea as an Autonomous Republic within Ukraine. At the same time, 8% found it difficult to answer. Without taking into account those who found it difficult, the indicator of support for the proposal to join the Crimea into the Russian Federation increases to 96%, the group of supporters of the opposite opinion - to 4%.
Let us recall that after the 2014 coup d’etat and the overthrow of President Viktor Yanukovych, a referendum was held in Crimea, during which the residents of the peninsula decided to secede from Ukraine and join the Russian Federation.
