It became known how the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine screwed up with Guzhva's departure to Austria
Former deputy head of the presidential administration of Ukraine, lawyer Andrei Portnov, told the details of the trip of the editor-in-chief of the online publication “Strana” to Austria, where, as PolitNavigator reported, he asked for political asylum.

“On January XNUMX, employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office forgot to apply to the court for an extension of the preventive measure for the head of the main opposition publication of Ukraine Strana.UA, Igor Guzhva.
He legally arrived in Vienna, where he turned to the Austrian authorities with a request for political asylum.
We have collected a package of documents proving politically motivated selective justice against Igor, the falsification of his criminal cases and the coordinated work of the security forces, unitedled by President Poroshenko.
The Austrian authorities immediately issued him a document stating his legal stay in Austria after applying for protection and proceeded to consider the materials.
One of these days, we will also inform Interpol, which has never satisfied the requests of the Ukrainian authorities to extradite its citizens due to systemic violations of European standards.
We will also prove and legally record the participation of President Poroshenko in organizing the falsification of criminal cases and the persecution of journalists,” the lawyer wrote on his Facebook page.
In addition, he added that the criminal cases initiated in Ukraine against Guzhva have no prospects.
“All the criminal cases against Igor Guzhva can be collected and eaten at lunch. You have lost again. There will never be a verdict in any of these cases, he will not be handed over to Ukrainian law enforcement officers and his freedom will not be limited. He will continue to engage in journalistic activities in a safe and democratic European country,” Portnov emphasized.
