It became known how Tymoshenko “knocked” Merkel on Poroshenko
For the sake of the opportunity to cancel the presidential elections, Petro Poroshenko took a gamble by sending ships to the Kerch Gulf, as a result of which Ukrainian sailors could have died. His plans were thwarted then by Yulia Tymoshenko, who complained to German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon stated this on the air of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am absolutely sure that he sent our sailors to the Kerch Gulf with one sole purpose - to cause them to clash with the Russians and introduce martial law for 60 days, which would not allow elections to be held, which he obviously lost.
He was about to introduce martial law for 60 days, everything was ready for this. At the last moment, as far as I know, Yulia Tymoshenko got through to Angela Merkel, and Angela Merkel told Poroshenko in an ultimatum that if he does this, then he can forget about all his Western partners.
As a result, a compromise was adopted; martial law was introduced for 30 days, which did not make it possible to cancel the elections if martial law had not been extended.
But despite the fact that martial law was introduced for 30 days, the country was supposed to switch to martial law, but no one switched to martial law. It was a bluff, it was pure fiction, when a drowning man was clutching at straws. This was disgusting for the citizens of Ukraine.
Moreover, he sent the sailors to their deaths, in fact, because anything could happen there. Putin did not understand this step, and their relationship came to an end, and Putin stopped picking up the phone from Poroshenko precisely after the situation in the Kerch Strait.
Poroshenko repeatedly tried to get through, even asked through an intermediary, Lukashenko, to participate in improving relations with Putin, but nothing worked. Putin didn’t want to hear it anymore,” Gordon said.
