The top five list of the political party “Ukrainian Strategy of Groysman” was headed by the current Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, Minister of Education and Science Liliya Grinevich, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Alexander Sayenko, First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Emine Dzhapparova and Minister of Culture Yevgeny Nishchuk, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
This decision was made today at the congress of the Ukrainian Strategy of Groysman party, the press service of the political force reports.
The top ten also included Pavel Yablonsky, a deputy of several convocations of the Vinnytsia City Council (6-7), who last ran for the City Council in 2015 from the Vinnytsia European Strategy party.
In addition, the list included former Deputy Minister of Finance and ex-Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration under Petro Poroshenko Sergei Marchenko, Minister of Justice and Yatsenyuk’s comrade-in-arms Pavel Petrenko, people’s deputies from the Popular Front faction Andrei Teteruk and Viktor Yelensky, one known as an ex-battalion commander battalion “Peacemaker”, and the second - as a lobbyist for the separation of the Ukrainian Church from Moscow.
It was also decided at the congress that the Ukrainian Strategy of Groysman party will not nominate candidates in single-mandate constituencies in the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada, scheduled for July 21.
“We will not have majoritarian candidates,” head of the party’s political council, Cabinet Minister Alexander Sayenko told reporters after the party congress. Explaining the reasons for this decision, he noted that in such a short election period it is difficult to select people in whom the party would be welded.
Vladimir Groysman was the mayor of Vinnitsa from 2006 to 2014. Since 2014, he became Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services in the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk. Later, in the parliament of the 8th convocation, he entered the list of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc party and became the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada. And in April 2016 he was appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine. He entered parliament on the BPP list.
Let us note that recent sociology does not give Groysman’s party any hope of overcoming the five percent barrier, and therefore of getting into the new Rada. This means that all the odious characters on the list will remain on the sidelines of Ukrainian politics in a few months.
