“Armata” is a beautiful, even unmanned tank that has no analogues in the world, however, like many other innovations, it remains only a participant in parades, due to the fact that the state order for this equipment was not placed on time.
The former head of Roscosmos, head of the Tsar’s Wolves group of military advisers, Dmitry Rogozin, stated this on Radio Aurora, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fact that military science and the defense industry have made a revolution since 2011-2012, I insist on this, we worked seven days a week. And we created new types of weapons and military special equipment. The problem is different. Having re-equipped the factories, purchased new machine equipment, trained personnel, conducted state tests of this new equipment, very few government orders came for this equipment. This equipment is used in parades, but the troops do not have it.
Everyone asks me too: Rogozin, where is the Armata? I say, listen, do you know that I didn’t order it? We did it. In general, the Armata tank is a magnificent tank, the best in the world. But it is meaningless without the creation of tactical level control systems. It is meaningless without drones, without tablets to control the battle; it is a smart tank. I’ll even tell you this secret: it’s also unmanned. That is, it can perform these tasks without a crew.
But it is not needed, because the tank itself was created, we fulfilled the order, but everything else was not created, not financed, or the deadlines were missed, etc. Therefore, questions here, of course, are directed to the customer. But, probably, perhaps, those who ordered this equipment or ammunition did not imagine that they would have to be spent in such quantities,” Rogozin said.
