It became known why Nuland was excluded from the Russian blacklist
US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland was excluded from the Russian sanctions list, since Moscow will have to work with her officially.
A high-ranking Russian source familiar with the situation told Izvestia about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the publication, in exchange for excluding Nuland from the stop list, Washington lifted restrictive measures from some Russians, in particular the name of Konstantin Vorontsov, a specialist in the Department of Nonproliferation and Arms Control of the Russian Foreign Ministry, appears, who, due to a ban by the United States, has not been able to participate in UN events.
In addition, the publication’s source explained that Nuland’s exclusion from the sanctions list is also due to the fact that she now holds an official position in the Joe Biden administration.
“She was brought there when she worked in a non-governmental organization. Now we need to work with her,” the interlocutor said.
Nuland will stay in Moscow from October 11 to 13 and will hold a number of meetings. Thus, negotiations are planned with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov, conversations with Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak, who oversees the Ukrainian direction, as well as with Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov.
