It became known why Poroshenko is seeking recognition of Donbass as occupied
Instead of implementing the Minsk agreements, the President of Ukraine will try to recognize Donbass as occupied, because if Donbass returns to Ukraine, then they will not vote for Poroshenko.

Former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anatoly Gritsenko stated this on TV channel 112 Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the one hand, he is in a hopeless situation. Petro Poroshenko had a rating of 54,7%, now it is about 10%. He no longer has the legitimate resource to carry through parliament everything that he signed in Minsk. Special status – 300 votes are needed, there are none. Obviously, he will not be able to carry out this decision. On the other hand, the president is already thinking about how to be re-elected for a second term. So, from such a cynical, immoral point of view, the return of Donbass and those millions of voters will mean for Poroshenko that these people will not vote for him. This is not said, but when they lay out their thimbles, they mean that these will be voters who would rather support the Opposition Bloc or someone else, but definitely not the team of the current president,” Gritsenko noted.
“Therefore, I think that there will be some steps to recognize these territories as occupied. There was a first signal - not yet shown to the public, sent, as they say, to foreign partners - a draft law, which was announced literally a week before the end of the session, about changing the status of the ATO to some other regime, or about reintegration, etc. And the first position there was to transfer to those territories the very legislative framework that was established for the Russian-occupied Crimea,” recalled the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
