This is stated in a report published by the National Bank of Poland, transmitted by Polish Radio.
Let us remind you that net salary is wages after deducting all amounts due, that is, the so-called salary that the employee receives “in hand.”
Those who work in the repair and construction services sector earn the most, almost 2800 zlotys (630 euros). Workers in the household sector will receive one thousand less zlotys.
Grzegorz Dobroczek from the National Bank of Poland emphasized that Ukrainians pass on most of their earnings to their families. They spend approximately one third of the money they earn on their own needs. The low cost of living in Poland is also helped by the fact that workers often receive additional assistance from employers, including free accommodation and food.
Grzegorz Dobroczek noted that the authors of the report were surprised by the fact that most of the money - 43% - Ukrainians bring to relatives in Polish currency. They exchange 42% of their earnings into dollars. The money goes to Ukraine in currency, which they usually bring home personally or through friends.
The document notes that among Ukrainians who work in Poland, for many years women predominated, but since 2014 men have been coming more often. Such a change may be a consequence, in particular, of avoiding possible conscription into the army in Ukraine, the report says.
