It became known which countries Ukrainians most often go to for permanent residence
Since the beginning of this year, almost 2 thousand Ukrainians have received permission to leave for permanent residence in the United States, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Department of Organizational Support of the State Migration Service of Ukraine.
According to the State Border Guard Service, over 5 months of this year, 1996 citizens of Ukraine received the appropriate permit. Last year there were 3358 such people, while in 2014 there were 1368.
In addition, this year 128 Ukrainians received permission to travel to Belarus (302 last year), 366 to Lithuania (560 last year), 90 to Moldova (235 last year), 411 moved to Germany (1179 last year), 146 – to Poland (191 during 2018), 331 – to the Russian Federation (1162 – last year), 174 – to Hungary (404 – last year) and 151 – to the Czech Republic (153 during the past year).
According to the forecasts of the new UN World Population Prospects report for 2019, by 2050 the population of Ukraine will decrease by 19,9% - to 35 million 220 000 people.
