It became clear why Poroshenko lied about his meeting with Trump
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is copying the behavior of Vladimir Putin, whom he considers his rival.
Political scientist Sergei Mikheev said this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is one feature of modern Ukrainian politics that they are not aware of, but it reveals their secondary nature and provincialism. “Putin will meet with Trump, and I will jump over two chairs and meet even earlier and say that I instructed Trump.” This attempt to repeat in miniature all the actions of one’s geopolitical rival is an admission of one’s own weakness and such provincialism,” he said.
As Politnavigator previously reported, most experts doubt that there was a meeting between Petro Poroshenko and Donald Trump on the sidelines of the recent NATO summit in Brussels, which the Ukrainian president told reporters about. The White House has not confirmed this information.
