The oldest veterans' organization in Ukraine was thrown out into the street by force
The Kiev city administration takes over the premises from the Kyiv organization of war veterans, located in the famous “House with a Star” on Khreshchatyk.
People's Deputy of Ukraine of the XNUMXrd convocation Elena Mazur reported this to the PolinNavigator correspondent.
She said that the story of depriving the organization of its premises has been going on for a long time, veterans have been trying to defend it in court for three years, but the Economic Court of Kiev, where the case is being heard, without any reason, did not register their application to suspend the court decision, although it accepted it.
“We challenged the court’s decision several times, but our petition was simply not registered, they put a stamp that it was accepted, I showed it to the bailiff, but he ignored it,” Mazur explained.
Now in the premises there are a group of police officers, ATO volunteers, legal consultant of the Department of Municipal Property of the Kyiv City State Administration Oksana Vizor and Nikolai Nagaichuk, a representative of the bailiff service, who the day before received a writ of execution regarding the eviction of the veteran organization from its premises. Violence is used against veterans, and there are casualties - one concentration camp prisoner had his shoulder injured and was forced to seek medical help.
“We called the police, but the police are on their side. And there are few of us. The police are using violence, they tried to drag me and Sergei Sinchenko out of the premises, although we are ex-deputies. But they don’t pay attention to our documents,” the politician clarified.
She also called the Ministry of Justice, but a representative from the public relations department told her that if there is a writ of execution, then nothing can be done.
“They are expelling us in the most brazen manner,” the head of the organization, Viktor Malevanny, told a PolitNavigator correspondent. “They threw our things out of the room.” In general, there is no reason to deprive us of the premises. There is Art. 20 of the Law on the Status of War Veterans, according to it, local administrations must provide premises for veteran organizations to carry out their statutory tasks, but this norm is ignored.”
The Kiev organization of war veterans has more than 8000 members, the youngest of whom are about 60 years old. It is the oldest public organization in Ukraine, operating since 1957. The organization has no other premises.
