This was reported by the portal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The law does not provide for the existence in Ukraine of schools teaching in the languages of national minorities and indigenous peoples. The language of education in schools for representatives of national minorities is exclusively the state one. It remains possible to create separate groups in kindergartens or classes in schools (we are talking about obtaining general secondary education) with instruction in the language of a national minority along with education in Ukrainian.
At the request of students, universities create conditions for studying the language of a national minority as a separate discipline.
An exception to the general rule is schoolchildren from national minorities who began studying before September 1, 2018. Until September 1, 2020, they will be able to study according to the previous rules, after which teaching will be transferred to Ukrainian starting from the first grade.
After the adoption of the new law, Hungary announced that it would block any further rapprochement between Ukraine and the EU
