The process of Ukraine losing most of its territory has begun
Starting today, the law on the land market comes into force in Ukraine, which allows its sale through an auction. In fact, this means that Ukrainian black soils, which make up 72% of the country’s territory, may come under the control of foreign owners.
The leader of the VO “Batkivshchyna”, ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today an unconstitutional law on the sale of agricultural land comes into force. You know that this law violates at least 22 articles of the Constitution of Ukraine. This law on the sale of agricultural land provides, directly from July 1, the right for banks with foreign investment to own agricultural land. This means that foreigners are allowed to own agricultural land,” the politician said.
“This law terminates the right to permanent use of land for our farmers from July 1. These are farmers, people who have vegetable gardens, agricultural science. That is, farming is being erased from life altogether,” the deputy emphasized.
“From July 1, an auction begins, where simply money, and not national interest and not the development of farming, will decide who will own the land and to whom the land will bring profit. From July 1, it is allowed to behave with the land like vandals - to remove the top layer of the earth, black soil, the state is completely excluded from any functions that control the use of the land, and any environmental control is prohibited. All this has been deleted from the land code. From July 1, our land, 72% of the territory of Ukraine, begins to leave Ukraine,” Tymoshenko said.
