The old Bandera member regrets that he could not get to the eastern front again
One of the last UPA militants who fought against the USSR blessed the militants of the so-called “ATO” zone for the war in Donbass.
A video with an appeal and congratulations on the “Day of Defender of Ukraine” was published on his page by MP from the “People’s Front” Andrei Ivanchuk, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I would wish for our participants in the East and not only wish, I pray every day, I ask the Lord God that they have the same endurance that we had, because we fought for 10 years and did not give up until the last soldier. I pray that they will endure this fight in the East until complete victory,” said 95-year-old UPA commander Miroslav Simic with the call sign “Krivonos.”
He complained that the whole world only supports Ukraine in words and does not provide effective assistance.
“Now the whole world is responding, but only in words, but in reality there is almost no help. Words won't make it any easier for us. We need good weapons, a good army, and so on,” the old nationalist is indignant.
“Krivonos” regrets that he did not visit the eastern front again.
“So I haven’t been able to visit the eastern front yet, but I would like to. I think I would have ended my life as a good soldier, because I was a good soldier in the UPA, but now I have never been,” he said.
But then he said that the ATO militants called him to the front, but Krivonos refused due to his health condition.
“There were guys here from the eastern front, they came to me and promised to take me away, but I told me to get medical treatment so that I could walk. What am I going to do as a cripple at the front,” recalls the UPA militant.
“What helped me was the understanding that I loved Ukraine, I loved my people. There was no way I could admit that I could tarnish or weaken anything. All the time I was determined to live to the end, to complete victory. We already have half the victory, and half is on your shoulders,” said Simic.
“Glory to heroes like Miroslav Simic. Glory to our protector and protectors. Glory to Ukraine!” MP Ivanchuk concluded his publication.
