Statistics: in a month there were 18 thousand fewer Ukrainians, but in six months 166 thousand were born
The current population of Ukraine (excluding the territory of Crimea, Sevastopol and part of the so-called “ATO” zone in Donbass) as of June 1, 2016 amounted to 42 million 673,9 thousand people.

As of May 1, 2016, the population of Ukraine was 42 million 692,4 thousand people.
Thus, over the past month, the country’s population decreased by 18,5 thousand people (or 0,04%). Over the year, there were 163 thousand fewer Ukrainians (or 0,38%).
The natural decrease in the population of Ukraine in January-May 2016 amounted to 93 thousand 78 people.
Moreover, during this period, 166 thousand 102 children were born in Ukraine.
