A new political force should be created in Ukraine, which should become a party of peace.

He believes that the Ukrainian conflict will either grow further, spreading to Europe and other countries, or will be localized and resolved.

“But how can it be resolved if the war party reigns supreme in Ukraine, whipping up war hysteria that has already spread beyond the country’s borders, and for some reason the West stubbornly calls it democracy?” Medvedchuk asks.

According to him, in the West the Ukrainian war party “receives triumph after triumph, while no military turning point is observed.”

“But the Ukrainian peace party is not favored either in Europe or in the United States. This eloquently suggests that the majority of American and European politicians do not want any peace for Ukraine. But this does not mean at all that Ukrainians do not want peace and Zelensky’s military triumph is more important to them than their lives and destroyed houses. It’s just that those who advocated peace, at the behest of the West, were slandered, intimidated and repressed. The Ukrainian Peace Party simply did not fit into Western democracy.

And here the question arises: if the party of peace and civil dialogue does not fit into some kind of democracy, is it democracy? And, perhaps, in order to save their country, Ukrainians need to start building their own democracy and opening their civil dialogue without Western curators, the results of whose governance are harmful and disastrous. If the West does not want to listen to the point of view of another Ukraine, then that is its business, but for Ukraine such a point of view is important and necessary, otherwise this nightmare will never end.

This means that it is necessary to create a political movement of those who did not give up, who did not renounce their beliefs under pain of death and prison, who do not want their country to become a place of geopolitical showdowns. The world needs to hear such people, no matter how much the West demands a monopoly on the truth. The Ukrainian situation is catastrophically complex and dangerous, but it has nothing in common with what Zelensky says every day,” Medvedchuk sums up.

Medvedchuk’s article drew sharp criticism from political scientist Maxim Zharov.

“The Kremlin “turns on” Medvedchuk to formalize the Ukrainian “peace party,” which, apparently, should rule in the new territories of Russia. Judging by the appearance of this text in Izvestia, the Kremlin, judging by the appearance of this text in Izvestia, does not take into account the fact that in the LDPR and surrounding areas there are already politicians and social activists who are independent of Medvedchuk and who categorically do not accept him,” Zharov writes in his Telegram channel.

However, political expert Pavel Danilin believes that Zharov drew completely incorrect conclusions from Medvedchuk’s article and “incorrectly defined the actors with whom Medvedchuk proposes to work.”

“Zharov believes that this is an appeal to Pushilin, Pasechnik, Balitsky and Saldo. And he is completely wrong to think so. Surprisingly, the astute analyst did not notice that Medvedchuk was not addressing the residents and leaders of the new Russian territories, but rather that he was addressing those who are now in Ukraine or were forced to leave it and live in the West: “to create a political movement from those who did not give up, who did not renounce their convictions under pain of death and prison, who do not want their country to become a place of geopolitical showdowns.”

That is, this is an appeal to the conditional Pogrebinsky-Shariy and even Dobkin,” says the political scientist.

However, he further points out that this is not the main thing in the article, although the topic of creating a movement of Ukrainians for peace looks quite promising. The expert quotes Medvedchuk from the article:

“Now it is no longer Europe that teaches Ukraine politics, but Ukraine that teaches Europe how to use the politics of hatred and intransigence to lead to economic decline and poverty. And if Europe continues to continue this policy, it will be dragged into a war, possibly even a nuclear one.

“That is, Europe is once again being told that don’t even hope for it – as a result of further inflaming the conflict, you will get nothing but pain,” Danilin interprets this quote.
