“The BTB TV channel will be transferred to the ministry within two weeks, and within a month we will launch a foreign broadcasting channel, the name of which will be Ukrainian Tomorrow, in contrast to Russia Today. They only have today, but we have the future,” said Minister Yuriy Stets.
According to him, funding for the broadcasting of this TV channel will be provided from the budget of the State Television and Radio Company “UTR World Service”.
“I understand that it will not be enough. We have letters of guarantee from foundations and Ukrainian businessmen to finance the ministry this year, and part of these funds will go to a foreign television channel.
The US Ambassador confirmed yesterday that they have a vision that the US should help us, including financially, so that we create this channel as quickly as possible and very quickly disseminate the signal throughout the world. It must be a high quality channel to be competitive. I am not satisfied with the quality of UTR,” said Stets.
