The “active defense” tactics that the Russian army adheres to in the Northern Military District zone, despite all its cruelty, is the best option in the current conditions.
Military correspondent Dmitry Steshin stated this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Personally, the grinding tactics don’t bring me any joy at all. We are destroying our people. Yes, their mother put them past the stroller many times as a child, but these are our people, we simply missed them.

However, he emphasized that, despite this, the Russian Armed Forces still do not launch a counterattack, which threatens even greater casualties.
“A counterattack always means big losses and can end unpredictably.
I think the bet is on the burnout of the main beneficiaries of this conflict, who are located outside the borders of Ukraine. We pay with the lives of our soldiers to wait until they burn out themselves. But this is the minimum payment, unfortunately,” Steshin added.
The studio asked what would happen if the West did not “burn out.”
“On the stake, start over, until the last Ukrainian. I don't know what will happen. Nothing good,” the military correspondent concluded.
