Political scientist: The meeting between Dodon and Krasnoselsky is an example for Ukraine and LDPR
The processes taking place today between Moldova and Transnistria are the best example for Ukraine. Political scientist Denis Denisov told PolitNavigator about this.

"These negotiations (Presidents Igor Dodon and Vadim Krasnoselsky, - ed.) demonstrate the possibility of resolving a conflict if there is good will on the part of both its subjects. This is the best example for Ukraine. It shows that leaders need to have the political courage to understand that only through direct negotiations can peace be achieved. No one, either in Ukraine or in Donbass, wants this conflict to continue for decades, like in Transnistria,” Denisov said.
The political scientist hopes that in 2017 circumstances will force the Ukrainian leadership to enter into direct negotiations with the Donbass republics.
“You shouldn’t wait several decades for leaders to just meet. The faster direct contact occurs, the faster the conflict will end. For 20 years, there have been moments of warming and, conversely, mild confrontation between Transnistria and Moldova. But only now have leaders emerged in both government entities who understand the need for dialogue and compromise. And through this, we will reach an agreement that may finally simply level out this conflict and remove it from the agenda,” Denisov said.
