Stoltenberg to the Kremlin: Let’s arm Ukraine to the teeth and come to dialogue
NATO will continue to send instructors and equipment to Ukraine, which should not interfere with the possible start of a dialogue between the Alliance and Russia.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this at a joint briefing with the Ukrainian president in Brussels, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We provide advisers, instructors, conduct general exercises, provide equipment. We support Ukraine, we strengthen the defense capabilities and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is practical assistance provided by Alliance members. We support Ukraine's efforts to become a NATO member.
We are also sending a very strong signal that we are ready for dialogue with Russia; we believe that dialogue is very important, especially in the most tense times. Therefore, when invited to a NATO-Russia dialogue, we are ready to sit at the table, but we will never compromise when we talk about the right of a sovereign nation like Ukraine to decide its own path,” Stoltenberg said.
