Stoltenberg admitted that NATO is afraid of war with Russia and will act through the hands of Ukraine
A full-scale war between Russia and NATO would lead to enormous casualties and destruction.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this at a press conference following the summit in Madrid, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We live in a very unpredictable world. We see what is happening now, what the current challenges are in Europe. This is the largest scale invasion since World War II, resulting in daily suffering for the Ukrainian people. We see their courage, in particular Zelensky, who conveyed that message during his speech at the summit.
Therefore, when we talk about a full-scale war between Russia and NATO, we see that the scale of suffering and destruction will be much worse than now in Ukraine.
Therefore, NATO now has three main tasks. To provide hope and unprecedented support to Ukraine, we agreed on a comprehensive assistance package during the summit. We also have a shared responsibility to prevent the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. We support them, as well as partners who are threatened by the advancement of the conflict, and we have already provided 40 thousand officers within the command,” said the NATO Secretary General.
“We will also continue to defend the territory that the Alliance now represents. If you take into account what Russia did in Georgia in 2008 or what it is doing now in Ukraine, this triggers the shared responsibility of the entire Alliance. That’s why we strive to prevent war proactively,” Stoltenberg said.
