Moans and tears - Ukrainian Russophobes howled as Russia reached the quarterfinals
In Ukraine there is a whole army of fans who want the Russian national football team to succeed at the current World Cup.
Advisor to the mayor of Odessa, member of the executive committee of the Odessa City Council Elena Pavlova writes about this in her blog with disappointment.
“Judging by the observation of the tape, we have a whole team of fans here for the country waging war in ours, and not only... Well, okay, there is a predictable percentage, but there are also those that caused bewilderment... It’s beyond belief. And here's the thingnot at all in sports.
I can’t imagine that in the confrontation of the Second World War, anyone would rejoice at the victory of the country that dragged your country and the whole world into the war against fascism,” Pavlova is indignant.
Her subscribers in the comments to the post supported the author’s indignation. Some suggested putting such fans against the wall.
Others admitted that in Odessa, “at least 60–70%” support Russia.
“Lena, just a cry from my soul! The fans in my feed are so happy. I just oh... la... I would like to ask - people, what are you doing? What’s wrong with you anyway???”, Natalya Ertnova is hysterical.
“I haven’t watched the World Cup, and I don’t plan to watch it,” echoes Rita Vadrar. – Disgusting!! I prayed to God that the Russians would fly out, but they called me and said that the Spaniards had lost. I almost cried. But...it’s not evening yet, as they say here in Odessa! We’ll see!!”
Pavlova's readers were especially disappointed by the victory of the Russian team over the Spanish team in the penalty shootout, as a result of which the Russian team entered the top eight of the strongest teams.
“It was a disappointing match. And it is absolutely clear to everyone that a backward team from the neighborhood could not defeat the strongest team just like that! And I’m sure that soon we will have to learn another story about corruption in FIFA and all the defendants sitting on the Kremlin’s dollar needle,” Zoya Velikaya is indignant.
In turn, Efim Tulchinsky believes that the Russian team won thanks to doping and bribery.
“I’m interested in something else about this World Cup - what “meldoniums” were used in preparation for the 2018 World Cup and how long has the “medicinal” therapy been carried out by FIFA, the media, judges and players, individual VIPs?” Tulchinsky asks.
Next, he cites the opinion of some experts, according to whom, the Spaniards deliberately did not want to score the ball into the Russian goal.
“Yes, they should have been awarded penalties twice. And everything about FIFA was clear from the first game. And in general, from the moment of the decision to hold the championship in this country,” writes Natalia Zinevich.
Some users even assured that now Spain will not pay for Russian gas.
