Supporters and opponents of NATO in Ukraine are still at parity
There are almost equal numbers of supporters and opponents of joining NATO in Ukraine.
Such statistical data were presented during the press conference “Elections VS Protests: electoral orientations in large cities of Ukraine” by the head of the analytical group “Socioprognoz” of the Kyiv Press Club, Mikhail Peresunko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The traditional question that we ask in most of our surveys is people’s opinion regarding the respondents’ readiness to participate in the referendum on Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO. Today, almost 40% are ready to vote “Yes” if the issue of this referendum was Ukraine’s accession to NATO. In contrast to this, approximately the same figure - 40,7% of respondents - would be against it,” Peresunko said.
At the same time, half of the residents of large cities are in favor of joining the European Union.
“As for the referendum on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, the situation here is somewhat biased towards supporting such a step, because 50,5% of the population of large cities support it and would vote “for”, but only a third of those surveyed, 33,7%, would vote against such a referendum,” noted Mikhail Peresunko
