Navalny's supporters turned the funeral rally into a vile Sabbath
Two events in memory of the victims of the fire in Kemerovo are taking place today in Moscow.
The initiative to gather on Pushkin Square was born as if by itself. But then she was supported by oppositionist Alexei Navalny, and then the Moscow authorities decided to “seize the initiative.”
On Manezhnaya Square next to the Alexander Garden, a banner “Kemerovo, we are with you” was unfurled. The mayor's office even purchased flowers, candles and soft toys for passers-by who would like to take part in the action. ONF volunteers in white cloaks were sent to keep order.
At first, the action on Pushkinskaya looked more popular and sincere. A lot of people gathered. The pedestal of the monument was very soon littered with flowers and toys. People began to leave flowers and candles on advertising stands, curbs of underground passages, and simply on the ground in the park.
But it was not possible to sustain a good note of mournful unity. Navalny and his wife arrived at the square and his supporters began shouting slogans. After the relatively appropriate ones: “Kemerovo, we are with you,” “Pravda,” “Shame on television,” they moved on to their traditional repertoire: “Russia without Putin,” “Putin is a murderer,” “Russia will be free,” “Down with the Tsar!” "
Several young people sealed their mouths with black tape.
Against this mocking background, the small rally at Manezhka, where people were simply silent, looked much more decent.
