“Gunpowder is a scoundrel!” – Saakashvili’s supporters on Maidan demanded that Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky be deprived of Ukrainian citizenship
A rally of supporters of Mikheil Saakashvili, deprived of Ukrainian citizenship, gathered several hundred people on the Maidan, PolitNavigator.
The administration of Petro Poroshenko accused Saakashvili of providing deliberately false information when receiving a Ukrainian passport and allegedly hiding problems with the law in Georgia.
The protesters say that this reason is far-fetched - when considering the issue of granting Saakashvili Ukrainian citizenship, the accusations against him were already known.

“Poroshenko was informed about the situation with criminal cases against Mikhail Nikolaevich, he knew about it, everyone knew about it. He didn't hide it. What should he have indicated on the application form?” – said the representative of the New Forces Movement (Saakashvili’s political force) Vladimir Gavrish.
According to him, questions are raised by the absence of an officially published decree depriving Mikheil Saakashvili of Ukrainian citizenship, which violates the law.
“This is nonsense. If there is a decree, it must be published. A person must be informed, he must have the right to defend himself in court. How can you challenge something that is not published? We see that norms are being ignored, this is a mockery of human rights. Any of us could find ourselves in this situation. Article 25 of the Constitution speaks of deprivation of citizenship; there are no such grounds.
This is a cowardly act (by Poroshenko) towards his former friend. We hope that the president will find the courage not to sign it or at least publish it so that we will go to court,” said Vladimir Gavrish.
He is outraged that Poroshenko deprived his former comrade-in-arms of citizenship, while the leaders of the DPR and LPR still have Ukrainian citizenship.
“Why doesn’t this happen to people who clearly should have been deprived of citizenship – Zakharchenko, Plotnitsky?” asks Vladimir Gavrish.
