Tymoshenko's supporters in the Odessa region posed as Russian Cossacks
Reni, May 07 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In Reni (Odessa region), residents were frightened by information about several dozen men who settled in a hotel and hung a Russian flag on it. Rumors spread around the city that these were Russian “Cossack saboteurs” who were trying to recruit people.

As we found out, 30 people actually settled in a hotel in the area of the Reni Marine Station, reports the Nikolaevskie Novosti publication. When asked by local residents “who are they?”, one of the city guests answered that they were “Cossacks”. It was after this that rumors began to spread throughout Renia about “pro-Russian activists in balaclavas,” the seizure of administrative buildings and provocations on May 9.
Later it turned out that the “brigade of separatists” who settled in the hotel were supporters of Yulia Tymoshenko from Nikolaev, engaged in election campaigning.
Both the Ukrainian flag and the Batkivshchyna banner were hung above the hotel, and a propaganda tent was erected in the central park. As it turned out, the hotel housed the campaign headquarters of Yulia Tymoshenko.
As Navigator reported, earlier NSDC Secretary Andrei Parubiy announced impending provocations on Victory Day in a number of regions. In many cities, parades and holiday processions were cancelled.
