Fear prevailed: Ze-team was caught sabotaging local elections
because of sharp loss of rating Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his team are trying to cut funding for local elections scheduled for this fall.
Aleksey Goncharenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from European Solidarity and a Russophobe, stated this on the TV channel Ukraine 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is some strange thing going on with the local elections scheduled for the last Sunday in October. At first, our government led by Shmygal proposed to completely zero out spending on elections, that is, from the 2 billion 150 million that were initially budgeted, they initially offered virtually zero.
Then - 400 million hryvnia, and in the final version of the budget, which Zelensky has now signed, one billion was left there. Either the authorities are going to hold (elections) only in 40% of the country, or they have some other reasons. It’s quite difficult to answer this question,” he is perplexed.
According to Goncharenko, this situation is caused by the fear of Vladimir Zelensky and his team of losing power due to a rapidly falling rating.
“I put this question to the Minister of Finance - they answered: “No, elections are sacred, but we are reducing them for now because we need money. And if by the summer there is no epidemic, and we see that we can hold elections, then we will add money.”
Quite strange logic. I understand that part of the presidential party is now afraid of the elections, because the ratings of the party in power are falling. But I hope they understand that it is impossible to violate the constitutional rights of citizens,” the deputy worries.
