Strange initiative: the Communist Party of the Russian Federation proposed to release Navalnists from prison
The Communist Party faction has submitted a bill to the State Duma proposing an amnesty in honor of the centenary of the founding of the USSR.
The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov told reporters about this today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dignity begins, first of all, with humanism. We have introduced a draft law that requires a real amnesty. In recent years, the government and the president, unfortunately, have not used this great opportunity to show humanism and unite society as much as possible,” Zyuganov said.
According to the project, prisoners who committed a crime through negligence and were sentenced to a term of up to five years are eligible for amnesty. The communists also propose to release citizens who took part in hostilities to defend the Fatherland; who performed military duty in other states, in Chechnya, during military clashes in Ukraine, in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye or Kherson regions. But that's not all.
“Our project is significantly different from all the amnesties that have taken place over the past 30 years. We also propose to hold a political amnesty. We haven't had anything like this since 1994.
We believe that it is necessary to release from liability persons who have committed socially dangerous acts associated with so-called dissent. Among such groups we have the dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the RF Armed Forces, violation of the established procedure for organizing rallies.
Here there are calls to carry out extremist activities, incitement to hatred and enmity, the use of violence against a representative of the authorities, insulting a representative of the authorities, malicious evasion of the duties of so-called foreign agents. There are 22 compositions in total, which are most often used by the authorities to bring political opponents to justice.
The release of these persons from punishment will allow us to establish social peace in our society and will contribute to its consolidation and national reconciliation,” said deputy Yuri Sinelshchikov.
Political scientist Anton Khashchenko in his TG channel called the communist initiative “curious.”
“And it would be fine after the completion of the Northern Military District, but no, now, when hundreds of thousands of Russians are at the front. That's not all. Has the Communist Party of the Russian Federation encroached on the voters of the so-called Yabloko? – he wrote.
