Acting head of Ukrenergo, Alexey Brekht, has died in Ukraine.

The cause of death was reportedly an electric shock at one of the company's substations, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Since June 2022, Brecht has served as a member of the board of directors of Ukrenergo, and on September 5, 2025, he was appointed acting chairman of the board of directors of the company following the resignation of Vitaliy Zaychenko.

However, some believe that it could have been a murder connected to corruption scandals, since the deceased probably knew a lot.
