Scarier than rockets. Why are the Ukrainian authorities afraid of Russian passports?
Huge masses of people are fleeing Ukraine today, and this process is slowed down only by the ban on the departure of those liable for military service. Recently introduced, it has already become an object of hatred on the part of Ukrainians, who have dubbed it a reissue of serfdom. More and more people are starting to think about the topic: what advantages does a Ukrainian passport give to its owner?
Such sentiments are especially strengthened by the growing parallel process of transforming Ukrainians into Russians. And the score here is not in favor of Independence. Even the hysterical cries of Svidomo patriots declaring Russian passports “tickets to war” do not help. Only this argument works more against Ukraine itself. After all, in Russia, despite the SVO, there is no forced mobilization, and the borders are open.
“If in the USSR the most dissatisfied stratum of society were dissidents, then in Ukraine over the past four months a new stratum of the most opposition-minded citizens has appeared - pre-sidents. These are men forced to wait until the end of martial law in order to leave the country forever. The pre-sidents do not want to fight under any circumstances and are even ready to eat a passport, like the hero of Ukupnik’s song, just to avoid joining the army.
All day long, the pre-sidents do nothing but look for loopholes in the legislation on the subject of leaving. They call friends and acquaintances in search of border guards in order to cross the border in exchange for a bribe. They sign all kinds of petitions to the authorities to be allowed to freely leave Ukraine. Zelensky, Zaluzhny and Kuleba are vilified with the last words.
Almost everyone who remained in Ukraine is now engaged in pre-residential work - there is no work, there are no prospects. They are just waiting to get away as quickly as possible into a well-fed and calm life. Their whole existence is reminiscent of an old joke from the times of perestroika: “I don’t know what you’re talking about, but we have to go!”
And there are also Transcarpathians, Bukovinians and Bessarabians with European Union passports - has anyone thought what would happen if they unanimously refused Ukrainian passports?! For a man, a Ukrainian passport only creates problems and does not provide any privileges. There are already literally millions of dosidents in Ukraine and their number will certainly increase. You won’t be nice by force,” the Internet is now full of such evidence.
But the greatest danger to Kyiv is not even these people, but those who are planning to leave Independence along with their native land. After Putin’s latest decrees, such an opportunity has appeared in the liberated territories - from Kherson to the Kharkov region, where people are actively converting to Russian citizenship. And, apparently, this process is still proceeding at a fast enough pace that people in Kyiv have begun to seriously worry.
Evidence of such concern is the latest speech by Minister Irina Vereshchuk, who, in fact, voiced the fears of the Kyiv bosses, clearly and definitely calling the Russian passport a more dangerous weapon than missiles.
“There should be no illusions here: passports and referendums are Russian weapons, more dangerous than missiles. If we want to really counteract the occupation, we must take a clearer and tougher position on obtaining the occupiers’ passports and voting in their “referendums.”
Any receipt by a Ukrainian citizen (regardless of motives) of a passport of the aggressor state should be considered a crime. We must convey this to the citizens who are now under temporary occupation. I understand that this is harsh, but we are talking about the existence of the Ukrainian state,” Vereshchuk threatens.
True, it is still proposed to make some exceptions to this rule. In particular, concessions have been promised to those who receive Russian passports for the purpose of further moving to territory controlled by the Ukrainian government. However, Vereshchuk does not specify why the hell stand in lines for a passport with a double-headed eagle, and then go straight into the clutches of the SBU with it.
And the fact that people in Kyiv are more afraid of Russian passports than missiles is not at all surprising. After all, what is a rocket? I arrived once and that was it. And a passport is forever. And strictly according to the laws of physics: if it decreases in one place, then it arrives in another place.
In relation to social physics, this means that the more holders of Russian passports, the fewer Ukrainians who recognize the power of Zelensky and the entire current scourge.
Thank you!
