Terrible torture in Ukrainian captivity: The story of a militia
Militiaman Igor Vakhitov (call sign “Vakha”) from Donetsk spoke about the terrible torture that those captured in Ukrainian managed to survive.
Vakhitov was captured in 2014, having come under fire and losing consciousness while being part of a reconnaissance group of the Kalmius unit during a foray into the airport area.
He spent 2 weeks in captivity, after which Minsk-1 was imprisoned, and Vakhitov returned to the DPR in exchange. The Ukrainians specifically insisted that the exchange take place at night - to hide the signs of torture.

“Six of us were captured by artillerymen. Three were young. The Ukrainians called for volunteers - who wants to become a target for artillery? As an old-timer, I wanted to protect the young and volunteered myself. I was tied to a cannon...
When we were sitting in the zindan, they forced us to sing the Ukrainian anthem. I didn't know these words. Then the Ukrainians fired at the reinforced concrete slabs - the ceiling, and we were showered with shrapnel. They had a goal - to kill, score, or give it to Kolomoisky, when a bonus of 10 thousand was announced for each Russian.
Water, drowning, burying, they tried to saw off my private parts with a grinder,” said Vakhitov.
