Strelkov: The result of the Russian Spring is a gigantic failure
Kyiv, January 12 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Russia could have taken the entire South-East of Ukraine as bloodlessly as Crimea, but missed the moment. So far, no one has been held accountable for this “giant failure,” former DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov said on Anna News.

According to him, the Ukrainian military was ready to lay down their arms in April, but not in front of the militias, but in front of the regular Russian army.
“In the spring, along with Crimea, we could take everything up to and including Odessa. Everything they say: “Crimea is not Donbass, Donbass is not Crimea” is complete nonsense. I negotiated with the Ukrainian military, with the SBU officers, especially in the second half of April. They were all mentally prepared for the Russian army to come, and they said this to my face. They said that they were ashamed to surrender to the militia, and if the Russian army entered, they would not stand. This was said by people who fought against us and are still fighting. But then they were mentally ready to lay down their arms in the same way as they laid down in Crimea. We are talking about a gigantic failure, and have you heard anyone answer for this, except me, of course?” – Strelkov said.
