Strelkov: Near Belgorod, the enemy actually achieved everything he wanted
The Russian media tried in vain to present the raid of Ukrainian terrorists in the Belgorod region as “not having military significance.”
The former head of the DPR Ministry of Defense Igor Strelkov stated this in a video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Operation (Ukrainian terrorists in the Belgorod region - approx.) has a pronounced distracting nature, the nature of provocations. This operation can be performed repeatedly. It is with such operations that the offensive campaign of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for this summer should begin.
The goal is not to advance deep into the Russian Federation, not to capture a large number of populated areas, but to divert as many resources as possible to these areas to cover them.
The blow is being delivered not for military purposes, but for political and propaganda purposes - to make the population of the country doubt the ability of our authorities to bring the war to a victorious end and defeat the Ukrainian army.
And the enemy, in fact, achieved everything he wanted. They didn’t go far - they say only eight kilometers. They invaded several settlements, took the border terminal, small trophies, and staged a PR campaign,” Strelkov said.
The former militia commander expressed confidence that Kyiv will repeat such attacks more than once.
“In fact, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have shown that they can easily invade the territory of the Russian Federation in any place they choose. We do not have normal defense, as we have near Zaporozhye and Donetsk, in these directions. And I think that this is not the last attack of this kind,” Strelkov warned.
