According to him, Moscow’s military assistance last spring “could have ensured the almost bloodless liberation of all Russian-speaking regions.”
However, then, Strelkov stated, “agents of influence howled about the inadmissibility of direct military assistance to the rebels.”
Moreover, he claims, the “fifth column” began, in “full cooperation with representatives of the Ukrainian oligarchy, to split the ranks of the militia.”
A similar situation arose after the militia went on the offensive at the end of August, the commander believes. According to him, at the negotiations in Minsk the militias were asked to “surrender all the gains of the uprising, to surrender them to the mercy of the Kyiv junta.”
“It is simply impossible to come up with more shameful agreements than those being discussed in Minsk,” Strelkov believes.
In his opinion, thanks to the truce, “Kyiv is hastily replenishing and arming the army,” and as a result, for the militia, the situation at the front will be much “more difficult than in May - the punitive forces are armed to the teeth.”
“All the favorable opportunities that Russia had in the spring were not realized,” Strelkov admitted.
