The article, citing World Bank statistics, indicates that the poverty level in Ukraine in the four years after the coup d'etat increased immediately from 15 to 25%.

“In general, after the 2014 coup in Ukraine, what happened was expected by pessimists a quarter of a century ago. But then the country was able to take advantage of the Soviet legacy and cheap Russian energy resources. Now this support does not exist, and there is generally nowhere to expect it from: the main course of the IMF and the World Bank is aimed at continuing reforms, which even economists have difficulty believing in. This means that Ukraine, which is rapidly becoming poorer, will continue its movement towards poverty,” the publication predicts.
