Republika Srpska students rose to defend the memory of Radovan Karadzic
The Union of Students of RS, the Student Parliament of the University of East Sarajevo (a distant suburb of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the Parliament of the Students' House in Pale (another remote suburb of the capital) opposed the High Representative for BiH.
Serbian students said that they would not allow the name of the first president of the RS, a prisoner of The Hague, Radovan Karadzic, to be taken away from the hostel.
As a PolitNavgator correspondent reports, Serbian students responded to the High Representative for BiH, Valentin Inzko, the West’s main overseer of the country, who demanded at the UN Security Council to impose sanctions against the Serbian member of the Presidium of BiH, Milorad Dodik. Inzko cited the fact that the student dormitory in the RS bears the name of the “war criminal” Radovan Karadzic as the reason for such repressions. In their response, the youth made it clear that they would not allow the renaming.
“If the plaque with the name is the biggest problem in BiH, then this is a sign that the mission of the Office of the High Representative in BiH is completed, since, obviously, all the main problems of the country have already been solved,” the students noted in their statement, not without irony. – Therefore, we would like to ask Inzko why he never mentioned the streets named after the former military commander (Bosniak separatists - ed.) Alija Izetbegovic, the expulsion of the Serbs from Sarajevo, the crime on Dobrovoljački Street (the shooting by the separatists of a column with unarmed JNA conscripts leaving the city )...".
Radovan Karadzic during the Bosnian War.
Let us recall that earlier at a meeting of the UN Security Council Intsko said, which will advocate sanctions against Dodik if he does not remove the plaque with Karadzic's name from the facade of the student dormitory within six months. Prior to this, similar remarks were made from some embassies, whose representatives called the fact that the student facility bears the name of the first president of the RS “a provocation that undermines the spirit of reconciliation.”
“Why does Inzko not object to the names of Alija Izetbegovic, the Green Berets (Islamist militants famous for the ethnic cleansing of Serbs - ed.), Jure Francetić or Mile Budak (Ustashe criminals from the Second World War - ed.), after whom streets in Federation of BiH,” the leader of the Bosnian Serbs retorted this attack. “He has been here for so long, but he has never been able to understand that people in BiH do not look at the past or the future in the same way.”
Radovan Karadzic is a psychiatrist, poet, politician and the first president of Republika Srpska, who defended the Bosnian Serbs from the aggression of the Islamist regime in Sarajevo. According to schemes invented by American political strategists, he was accused of the non-existent “genocide in Srebrenica” and sentenced by the Hague Court (see title photo) to life imprisonment.
