Su-34 fell on residential buildings on Western Street in Yeisk
In Yeisk (Krasnodar Territory), a Su-34 plane crashed while climbing to perform a training flight from a military airfield in the Southern Military District.
This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The plane crashed within the city of Yeisk. According to the report of the ejected pilots, the cause of the crash was the fire of one of the engines during takeoff. “At the site of the Su-34 crash, in the courtyard of one of the residential areas, the aircraft’s fuel caught fire,” the report says.
Eyewitnesses reported that the parachutes of the ejected pilots were on fire. They also claim that as a result of the fall, apartments from the first to the ninth floors caught fire in the residential building.
Military correspondent Alexander Kots reports that the main version of the causes of the accident is that birds got into the engines during takeoff.
In Ukraine, according to tradition, rejoicing began.
“First of all, it’s beautiful... It’s a small thing, but it’s nice,” – Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko gloats in his TG channel.
“There was a Su-34 plane, they say. Now it’s a Su-200,” – echoes Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Goncharenko, known for mocking the corpses of those burned in the Odessa House of Trade Unions.
