The court acquitted the SBU accused of separatism - he spent 1,5 years in prison without guilt
Ukrainian justice can boast of few acquittals. Especially on articles relating to the so-called. "separatism". But, nevertheless, they exist. And these documents are good precedents that provide arguments in the fight for the freedom of innocent victims of the “witch hunt.”
...In March last year, a soldier of a convoy platoon in the city of Mariupol became a victim of the arbitrariness of the SBU. His whole “fault” was that he was a native of this region, and therefore he shared the latest news with his friends and acquaintances who found themselves on the other side of the front.

In pursuit of “stars,” the SBU officers fabricated a counterintelligence case against an avid “separatist” who was revealing to the enemy the most secret secrets of the Ukrainian troops: data on changes in the composition, quality and size of the contingent.
In his speech, the accused noted with surprise that it was only in the courtroom that he learned that the DPR was a terrorist organization. Moreover, none of his respondents spoke about involvement in military structures. And therefore his communication was purely private.
The court also noted that the accusation is not based on facts, but on assumptions, suspicions and internal documents of the SBU, which violates the principles of fairness and publicity in jurisprudence.
Moreover, transcripts of telephone conversations recorded illegally, without the sanction of the investigating judge, turned out to be the only evidence. Upon closer examination of its content, it turned out that out of twenty-two episodes of “leaking” information to the enemy, only four corresponded to the facts, and even then they related to generally known information.
Experts' examination of equipment belonging to the defendant also did not reveal any traces of intelligence collection.
In general, the case sewn with white thread in the SBU Directorate fell apart like a house of cards. Mariupol court justified a serviceman who has not broken down in almost six months spent in the dungeons of the SBU and almost a year in a pre-trial detention center.
