The European Court of Human Rights has indefinitely postponed hearings in the case “Ukraine v. Russia”. The case was supposed to be considered on February 27, but it was postponed “for organizational reasons,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, citing Kommersant.

The publication notes that the reason for postponing the hearings may be the self-recusal of the Russian judge to the ECHR Dmitry Dedov, the appointment in his place of a member of the UN Committee against Torture Bakhtiyar Tuzmukhamedov and the end of the term of office of the ECHR judge from Ukraine Anna Yudkovskaya. Her replacement will be appointed after the presidential elections in Ukraine.

Let us remind you that the Ukrainian authorities accuse Russia of violating a number of articles of the European Convention on Human Rights.

“The complaint, in particular, refers to the murders of Ukrainian military personnel, law enforcement officers and civilians, ill-treatment of Crimean Tatars, illegal introduction of Russian citizenship, attacks, abductions, ill-treatment and harassment of journalists, harassment and intimidation of Ukrainian Orthodox priests and imams, seizure of property of Ukrainian legal entities,” the publication writes.

Earlier, the coordinator of the Ukrainian project “Stop Terror,” which is trying to find evidence of “Russian aggression in Ukraine,” Semyon Kabakaev said that Ukraine has no prospects of winning the case against Russia in the International Court of Justice, in which Kyiv is trying to achieve recognition of the Russian Federation as a sponsor of terrorism.
