Ukrainian court legalized pogroms of monuments objectionable to Maidan protesters
Kharkov, October 24 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The Kharkov District Administrative Court rejected the request of the Kharkov City Council to suspend the order of Governor Igor Baluta on the dismantling of the Lenin monument and its removal from the State Register of Monuments of Ukraine.

This was announced by the Director of the Legal Department of the Regional State Administration Denis Dudnik, reported on website of the Kharkov Regional State Administration.
Earlier, the plaintiff, the Kharkov City Council, filed an administrative claim against the Chairman of the Kharkov Regional State Administration Baluta and the regional state administration in the Kharkov District Administrative Court, in which he asked the court to declare illegal and completely cancel Baluta’s order dated September 28.09.2014, 517 No. XNUMX “On resolving the situation in the region regarding monuments of the era totalitarianism” and oblige the regional state administration not to remove the monument to Lenin, located on Freedom Square in Kharkov, from the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine, and not to dismantle this monument.
The Kharkov City Council can appeal the decision of the court of first instance within five days from the date of proclamation of the decision, the Regional State Administration said.
As PolitNavigator reported, on September 28, a monument to Lenin was demolished in Kharkov. Kharkov Mayor Gennady Kernes promised to restore the monument and began sue Baluta.
