Nebiev's lawyer Dzhemil Temishev told reporters about this.
“The court made the decision we predicted. Eskender was arrested for two months. The court considered that Eskender could escape and put pressure on the investigation and witnesses. He does not, as investigators said, have stable social connections. Taken together, this was the basis for its closure,” the lawyer noted.
Within three days he intends to file an appeal against the court's decision.
“In principle, there was no reason to put this guy in a pre-trial detention center,” noted Dzhemil Temishev.
The cameraman is charged with Article 212, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (participation in mass riots). The sanction of this article, the lawyer explained, provides for from 3 to 8 years of imprisonment.
Eskender Nebiev was detained after a search on Tuesday night as part of the investigation into the “February 26 case.”
Let us recall that during the riots on February 26, 2014, after supporters of the Majlis and Ukrainian nationalists used military gas during a stampede near the Armed Forces of Crimea, Simferopol residents Igor Postny and Valentina Koreneva were killed.
