Political scientist: The Serbian leadership needs to show firmness and suppress the unrest
The unrest in Belgrade is occurring in accordance with a long-term American plan to destabilize Serbia.
Russian political scientist, professor at the Higher School of Economics Oleg Matveychev told PolitNavigator about this.
“They have allocated budgets, and they are settling into a bureaucratic regime, regardless of what is happening in the United States itself. The grants are planned for several years, and the scammers are working on them. Nothing spontaneous happens there. It’s like in astronomy: a star goes out, but the light from it continues for 300 thousand years.
So it is here, America no longer exists, it is falling apart, and someone is organizing “color revolutions,” said Matveychev.
At the same time, he believes that the American plans will fail ingloriously if the Serbian authorities show firmness.
“Color revolutions turn into revolutions only when the government shows weakness. If the Serbian government acts in the same way as Trump - tweeting “let’s live together,” then the riot could turn into a revolution.
And if the authorities, as expected, use force, especially since in the conditions of Covid, rallies are generally prohibited, then there will be complete order, and American influence will decrease,” the professor concluded.
