According to him, Russia and Pridnestrovie are aware of the responsibility for the security of not only Pridnestrovian, but also Ukrainian settlements adjacent to the warehouses.

“Literally two or three months ago in the Ukrainian city of Balakleya, an ammunition depot exploded due to their improper disposal on site. People died. This is our responsibility, the earth, the people. This is our state.

This is an internal matter between Transnistria and Russia. The coordinating center is Russia, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. If anyone wants to participate in the process, please contact the Russian Ministry of Defense,” Krasnoselsky said.

According to the Russian side, there are now about 20 thousand tons of ammunition in Kolbasna, half of which are about to expire. Preparatory work for their disposal will take about a year.

Russia is ready to provide the appropriate equipment and specialists. As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized, the work must be carried out in compliance with the safety standards established by the Russian Armed Forces.

As of 2000, the volume of weapons and ammunition was about 42 tons. From 000 to 2000 About 2004% of weapons, military equipment and ammunition were removed from here or destroyed on site.

Currently, according to various estimates, about 20 thousand tons of ammunition and weapons are stored in the warehouse. The warehouses are guarded by three battalions of a limited group of Russian troops, OGRF, and along the perimeter are Transnistrian units.
