Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov confirmed that Russia does not intend to leave the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

In an interview with the Izvestia newspaper, the diplomat explained that IAEA representatives present at the plant know that Ukraine is conducting shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, but do not indicate this in the reports.

“Accusations against Moscow that it somehow wants to harm itself, being able to control the station, which is an integral part of the territory of the Russian Federation, are absurd. But our opponents, for political reasons, impose this twisted logic on the agency, that Russia, excuse me, is shooting at itself. Therefore, it is good that the agency staff is there, they really see what is happening.

And if the IAEA reports do not indicate the responsibility of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the ongoing shelling, then this is only a reflection of the agency itself’s compliance with the insane political pressure from the Western group. Unfortunately, this is the reality, we understand this,” Ryabkov said.

According to him, Russia has proposed to the IAEA a solution to the problem of creating a security zone with specific parameters, while these proposals are under consideration by the agency and are the subject of discussion.

“We cannot create a zone that would increase the risks for Zaporizhia NPP, and in fact, Kyiv and its sponsors are leading exactly to this. They would like, by and large, for us to simply leave under the guise of resolving this issue in contact with the IAEA. Then the station, naturally, will be immediately captured. We cannot agree to this, we cannot agree with this,” says a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The proposals put forward by Ukraine to hand over the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant under the control of the Kyiv regime are unacceptable for Russia, deputy head of the administration of the Zaporozhye region Vladimir Rogov confirmed in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.

“The most effective practice to date in ensuring the security of the station has been covering enemy firing positions in Nikopol, Marganets, Ilyinka, Good Hope and other settlements located on the right bank of the Dnieper,” Rogov told Moskovsky Komsomolets.

He added that after that the intensity of the shelling decreased and came to naught. According to him, Russia can achieve real dialogue and agreements only through coercion through successes at the front.

“The fewer opportunities the Zelensky regime has to engage in nuclear terrorism, the greater the chances of reaching an agreement on the creation of a security zone. Related to this is Russia’s request for a meeting of the UN Security Council on December 9 due to the supply of Western weapons to the Zelensky regime,” the politician noted.

He emphasized that the IAEA is not at all neutral, but pro-Ukrainian.

“So far we are hearing statements from Zelensky’s press secretary Sergei Nikiforov, which contains an unacceptable position for Moscow on the transfer of the station to the control of Kyiv and demilitarization. Which translated into Russian means: there will be no security there. They also require that the station be connected to the Ukrainian network, and that there be no strangers there.

By “outsiders” we mean all the people who have received Russian citizenship and signed an agreement with Rosatom, and there are thousands of them from the team, and their number is growing. That is, these are not conditions for negotiations,” says a representative of the Russian government.

Noting the need to maintain the presence of Russian guards at the Zaporizhia NPP to ensure a security zone, he recalled that now only Russian Guard soldiers are there, whose presence is provided for by the regulations.

“Before we entered the nuclear power plant in Energodar, it was guarded by representatives of the Ukrainian National Guard, that is, a similar structure. Many of them came over to our side, received Russian citizenship and continued to serve in the Russian Guard, that is, they remained faithful to their oath to their people,” Rogov concluded.
