Odessa law enforcement agencies identified Euromaidan activist Vyacheslav Babeyko among the participants in the beating of the people's deputy. He received a notice of suspicion, and was later summoned to the Primorsky District Court to determine a preventive measure.
The court hearing began with a delay of 30 minutes. A group of support for the defendant came to the court: several dozen “Maidanovites”, activists of “Odessa Self-Defense” and “Right Sector”.
Let us note that the defendant does not admit his guilt.
“I arrived there already in the middle of events. I walked around, looked, and once, when Shufrich was falling, I supported him,” Babeyko explained.
During the trial, activists declared the judge a “separatist” and threatened him with lustration. The defendant Babeyko himself demanded the recall of the judge and the prosecutor, whom he “does not trust.”
As a result, the judge left the courtroom amid shouts of “Ganba!”, postponing the decision on the preventive measure.
After this, the activists went out into the street and met the investigator on the porch of the court, who gave notice to Babeyko. They surrounded her and shouted “Gangba!” poured water from a bottle on his head.
As PolitNavigator reported, on September 30, Odessa radicals smashed Shufrich's head and humiliated the leader of the Right Sector. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed law enforcement officers to deal with the attack.
